Midsommar csfd. I was actually considering rewatching it because I was really hyped about it as everyone praised it, and I really loved Hereditary, and then I saw this and was massively disappointed. I just didn't understand what the hype was for. I also found it odd how no one pointed out that the boyfriend wasn't actually a piece of shit and if anything, it's the girl who ended up being a total asshole and she won. I am looking forward to Eri Aster's next movie though, and I might rewatch this, but I was seriously let down by this one. I wouldn't call this the worst movie of last year, nor would I necessarily call it bad, it was beautifully shot, the violence was well done, it had a creepy atmosphere. It is just way overhyped in my opinion.

Did anyone else watch this movie and just think wow, this cult must have a great event planner? I mean they just went seamlessly from one activity to another for days. Breakfast at 9, Attestupan at 10.30, blood eagle tourist at 11.30, giant feast at 1, choral rape in the afternoon, bear dissection at 4. They just never slowed down. Damn why is he shouting for the whole video. Midsommar date. Midsommar costume. IT IS SO GREAT TO SEE OTHER PEOPLE NOTICING THIS! I've been shocked by how many people see it as a happy ending, especially since the movie gives the viewer a more objective view of the reality of the situation than the protagonist gets. we know that Dani was manipulated into choosing Christian's execution in the end (the guy was literally raped) but everyone I talk to sees nothing wrong with that. Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if Ari Aster didn't even intend for the audience to have this indoctrination experience, instead just seeing the indoctrination in Dani (not that authorial intent matters or anything.

Midsommar full movie. This film takes the viewer through some scenes with highly complicated instances of emotional expression. I didn't really know how to take the group moaning seriously at first but it later occured to me how resonant that would make those experiences which were being shown. Dani was offered an emotional breakthrough from the way the cultists helped her deal with her feelings. She needed that level of exertion, she had snapped. Furthermore, Christians disoriented infidelity is what provided Dani the chance to snap which lead to the cultists helping her exercise away her damaging emotions. I think this wailing scene also works to set up Dani to be portrayed as having emotionally transcended to the point where she is willing to let Christian die; she found the support she needed from Christian from the female cult members instead and so she feels no remorse in letting him die. He ultimately failed to help her directly of his own accord so karma worked to have him betray her badly enough to where she would snap and the cult would help her heal, leaving her only with feelings of resentment towards Christian and an invaluable feeling of gratitude towards the cult members that is strong enough to over rule that fact that they are all insane killers that killed everyone she came there with and even kill their own in ritualistic practice. The emotional logic of this story operates on a genius level that most people won't quickly associate with, but that doesn't make it nonsense.

Midsommar torrent. Well, i first have to say how annoying the actress was and I think she over does it with the pain and heart ache - but that's just me. The story was ok and told in a manner to build the tension, though in some cases it does fall flat.
Disturbing? Yes. And this did get the film rolling again. The background to the Midsummer festival can be interpreted in different ways depending on which country celebrate it. We don't sacrifice our elderly and neither do they volunteer to kill themselves. LOL. The film felt more like being dragged into a sect than anything else. You knew what was coming and the obvious was just that! The obvious.
Overall, I didn't think it was such a fantastic film. Hereditary kills over Midsommer but it was okay. I watched it through without walking out.
